Protecting Your GPS

In the last few weeks I have know of a few people who have had their GPS systems stolen from their cars. The thieves simply break the window reach in and pull out the system. In fact this is one of the largest categories of larceny that occurs.

You may think that if you have put the system in your glove compartment or taken it out of the car you are safe. Not so...if they see marks from the suction cups that often attach them the thieves will break in and search for them. Satellite radios are up for grabs as well.

If you have a GPS... don't even bother attaching it, either with Velcro or suction cups. Let it rest beside you on the seat and use it if necessary. That way any thief looking in through the window will not have a clear clue that you even own one.

As for me .... I still use goole maps, mapquest or....call ahead.

Holidays and Stress

Well we are really in the thick of it. Thanksgiving is long over and the Christmas is bearing down on us. Despite my best efforts I can find myself getting a little overwhelmed with all there is to do and often my clients can feel the same.

Keeping it simple is what is important. Take a look at what you really value and create your holiday around that.

It's more about the people than the presents.

The goal doesn't have to be perfection.

Ease up and let others lend a hand.

Schedule and I do mean schedule a little time for yourself. Kick back and listen to some music. Have a latte or a cup of tea. Jump in the tub for a soak. Make this non negotiable.

A little time set aside for you can ease a lot of stress. No matter how busy you think you are this is really important
Instead of writing dozens of cards set aside a little time as the holiday approaches to reach out and have a conversation with those you care about. You will both feel closer.

Don't try to cram everything into a few short days. The feelings that we all try to express in a few short weeks can always be spread over the rest of the year. Be thankful for the little things each day.....it's hard to feel stressed out when you are in a space of gratitude.

Happy Holidays
